Sadly Gossip Girl has come to an end, and the cast and crew are just as sad that it's ended as us devoted fans are. Here's what the cast and crew had to say about Gossip Girl:

About appearing on the show:
“At first we didn’t have a lot of access to New York City, but very quickly, I think people recognized if you were on the show that was a good thing. We always saw the show as a love letter to New York City.” – Josh Schwartz (co-creator)
“[Gossip Girl] was just such a love affair with the city and everything it had to offer, from the fashion, to the food, to the music.” – Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen)
“I remember it was such a difference after the show premiered. All of a sudden there were people standing around watching [us film].” – Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf)
“Parties constantly, and tinted windows, lights, and clothes that were just given to you… I was like, ‘Where am I right now?’” – Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey)
“We always wanted the show to be able to function like a magazine, so if you wanted to find out what’s the new fashion designer, the trends,  the new song I should be listening to, the place that I should go… you could read a bunch of magazines and figure that out, or you could watch Gossip Girl, and that information could be delivered to you.” – Stephanie Savage (co-creator)

About the books:
“I was coming off of The O.C. and had very little interest in doing another teen drama. And then I got sent theGossip Girl book series, and I was like, ‘I might not be ready to leave high school after all.’” - Josh Schwartz
“The books really laid it out well. They’re juicy and salacious and fun. Everything was said with a wink.” – Blake Lively
“When Cecily [von Ziegesar] wrote the book in 2012, Perez Hilton and TMZ didn’t really exist, so she really imagined something.” – Stephanie Savage

About the shows fans:
“We have some of the most passionate, vocal fans in the history of television.” – Josh Schwartz
My personal favourite quote, from Chace about the shows fans:
“I get texts from Nami [my grandmother] sometimes saying ‘I don’t like you with that MILF [Diana] anymore. And I’m like, ‘Nami, watch your mouth.’ … Oh I’m sorry, it wasn’t ‘MILF’ — it was ‘cougar.’ Now this is really going to get me in trouble.” – Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald)

About the future:
“I am going to run down Broadway naked with champagne [to celebrate the end of the series].”- Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald)
“We’re all very excited to see what’s for ourselves and for each other.” – Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass)
“I know that it has changed my life in a lot of ways, but it hasn’t changed me. It’s only made me appreciate everything else in my life that’s still really concrete and the same even more. - Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf)

Audrey Hepburn, Moon River

Audrey Hepburn, Moon River, from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's

Moon river wider than a mile

I'm crossing you in style someday
You dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you're going I'm going your way
-x-
Two drifters off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waiting 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river and me

(Moon river, wider than a mile)
(I'm crossin' you in style some day)
Oh dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're going, I'm going your way

Two drifters off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end,

Gossip Girl; Kisses

Gossip Girls most memerable kisses according too http://gossipgirl.alloyentertainment.com

Gossip Girl; The series one cast were my favourite

Diamonds are A Girls Best Friend

Loving this song, Marilyn Monroe's Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend.

The French are glad to die for love,
They delight in fighting duels,
But I prefer a man who lives and gives
Expensive jewels.
A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand... but it won't pay the rental on your humble flat
Or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square cut or pear shape these rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
-x-
... Tiffany's!
... Cartier!
Black star Frost Gorham
Talk to me Harry Winston tell me all about it!
There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
There may come a time when a hard boiled employer thinks you're awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice
He's your guy when stocks are high but beware when they start to descend
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
-x-
I've heard of affairs that are strictly platonic
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
And I think affairs that you must keep liaisonic are better bets
If little pets get big baguettes,
Time rolls on and youth is gone and you can't straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees you stand straight at... Tiffany's...
Diamonds... diamonds... I don't mean rhinestones... but diamonds... are a girls best... best friend

Gossip Girl Finale: Dan Was Almost Revealed in Episode 1—and More Surprises You Didn't Know!

We just got off the phone with executive producer Stephanie Savage to ask our lingering questions about last night’s series finale of Gossip Girl. So if you are a fan, we highly recommend you read the following Q&A, which also reveals why Lily didn’t end up with Rufus, and where Vanessa is now…
“Henry Bass” was trending on Twitter. How hard was it to find a kid who looked so much like Leighton and Ed? We had a few good contenders, but Alex who played Henry, was just like if you made computer program of what Chuck and Blair’s kid would look like he would come out. We loved it.
When did you know that Chuck and Blair were endgame? I think it was a conversation up until the end of last season among all the writers. We wanted to write a season-five finale that would point us in the right direction. But for me and Josh Schwartz, we always felt that those guys were endgame for each other. Always.
Some people were upset that Lily and Rufus didn’t end up together. William is pretty much a doofus….When you think about the core of Lily’s character, she really tried to make it work with Rufus but at the end of the day, that was too hard for her. Bart Bass was a little bit too psychotic and William kind of split the difference. William is going to let her enjoy her teacup full of gin and be as much like her mother as she’s likely going to become. Rufus and Lily, that was something that was great about the Dan and Serena wedding, was that Rufus and Lily are now connected to each other forever through their children. It was important that you felt they had a very loving, warm bond and that everybody was happy.
Did you always know Gossip Girl would be Dan? Were there any other names tossed out?We never really entertained any other ideas of who Gossip Girl was. It was whether we were going to reveal it. Interestingly, in the pilot episode, the test audience thought that Dan was Gossip Girl. We actually had to re-edit one of our sequences. It’s when he’s on the computer looking at Gossip Girl, the way it was edited that he was typing as the voice was coming up, people thought that they were being told that he was Gossip Girl. So we actually had to re-edit that sequence.
Some fans have a lot of questions about why Dan did certain things…We could have made the show two hours long with just Rufus drilling Dan about all of those things. What about this time and what about that other time? Wait, you wrote this about yourself?! My hope is that people who are really curious about that can go back and rewatch the season and get their brains going.
How hard was it to keep the cameos [Lisa Loeb, Rachel Bilson, Mayor Bloomberg] a secret? We were so happy that none of them got out. With Mayor Bloomberg, were able to shoot in the city when he was available. It was all very dramatic with him coming in the back door so the paparazzi wouldn’t see him and we shot inside. Jessica [Szohr] was in town for a movie. She did her cameo on the set of Carrie Diaries and it’s Carrie Bradshaw’s ’80s kitchen she’s standing in. And Rachel Bilson and Kristen Bell shot on the set of Hart of Dixie. We didn’t send dailies out, we didn’t send out to international partners, we didn’t send the last two acts to anyone. We really tried to control spoilers.
The paparazzi got wedding photos of Chuck and Blair and Dan and Serena. Was that expected or were you disappointed that happened? The Chuck and Blair wedding, we knew as soon as we stepped outside, it would be captured by the paparazzi. But Dan and Serena, that was really disappointing and upsetting. We worked really hard to dress Blake inside, she kept away from the windows. It was a locked set. But somebody either paid someone to get into the apartment across the street, or used a fire escape and used a telephoto lens, and that really upset me because I didn’t want anyone to know. I wanted that to be a surprise for fans.
Where can we start a petition for a spinoff with Jack and Georgina? Did you consider doing a whole storyline with them earlier?Always. We always talked about them being in some ways the male and female versions of each other and perfect for each other. We love Desmond [Harrington]. We have to work around his Dexter schedule which means we only got him for one episode this season. And then we realized that Jack and Georgina had never met, and so we had the opportunity to have a fun little pilot story where it’s just slight but getting them together for the first time, which was super fun.
Did Nate end up with anyone?I think for at least our five-year flash forward, Nate is single and focused on work. And that Dan giving him the Gossip Girl exclusive is kind of what he needed to jumpstart theSpectator. And he’s been able to focus on that. Not have any business partners or distracting girlfriends and become very focused and successful.
Where’s Jenny in five years?I always loved the idea that Blair would reach out to Jenny and have her become a part of Waldorf Designs. When Jenny is running up the stairs to Dan and Serena’s wedding, she’s using a “J by Waldorf” shopping bag. So it happened.
Where do you see Vanessa?Vanessa’s doing something very successful in her own world. Maybe she’s directing an episode of season five of Carrie Diaries.
We know Serena ended up with Dan, but where is she professionally?Serena is a powerful force in the New York social scene. We saw a glimpse this year of her philanthropic powers. Her ability to raise money and get behind causes, and that’s probably what she’s doing.
Why did you use the final song of Sex and the City finale as your final finale song? It’s not the final song. It’s our penultimate song. It’s Florence and the Machine covering thatSource song. It was that moment of joy and closure and really feel like the show was ending and then start it back up again. After that song ends and we pull out of the window of our townhouse, “Kill Me” by Pretty RecklessTaylor Momsen’s band, comes up, and we’re back out in the street with a new crop of kids and the voice of Gossip Girl is back.
Finale note: Whatever your feelings about the past few seasons of Gossip Girl, you gotta admit, the finale last night was pretty dang close to perfection. Chuck and Blair didn’t just end up together—they had TV’s most adorable son. The surprise cameos were miraculously kept secret, and squeal-worthy. And the big, show-ending reveal of Gossip Girl’s identity—one Mr. Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley)—somehow seemed to make perfect sense, allowing for one heck of a happy ending.
Slow clap to Stephanie and the entire Gossip Girl crew….We loved it. XOXO

Gossip Girl; End of Final Day of Filming Party Photos

Gossip Girl; New York I Love You XOXO; Review

So it's over. After six years of love, hate, crime, passion and of course gossip Gossip Girl has finished. Wahh!! I loved the flash backs. I loved the fact that Chuck & Blair got married. I love the fact that they had a son, with long hair, in a suit, just like his father! I love the fact that Serena & Dan got married. I loved the show. Buttt......

There wasn't much drama was there? But then I guess that to compare any episode to the last, The Revengers, it wouldn't seem like there was, would it? Whilst it was a great last episode it felt slightly rushed, like they were just trying to tie everything off in a hurry so that they could end the show. Personally I thought that they could've made a couple more episodes out of it, but ah well, on the whole it was a bloody awesome way to end.

The five years later bit was great! I loved how we got to see a short snippet of how everyone was in the future. Chuck & Blair with their adorable son, Henry; Dan & Serena (in a gorgeous dress) about to tie the knot; Jack with Georgina (they are so suited to each other  and Nate a high-flying, beautiful as ever, owner and editor of The Spectator. It looks like all of the characters got their dreams in the end (with a little help form Gossip Girl of course!).

Speaking of Gossip Girl, what did you think to Dan turning out to be her? I did think that he might be her, well either him or Jenny, though, if I'm honest, it wasn't that big a surprise, I thought that they should've found out in a more dramatic way. In fact, the revealing of GG could've and probably shouldv'e had a whole episode dedicated to that particular story-line. I guess that Dan fits the bill though, he saw everyone almost daily, wrote and had a reason behind him.

I loved the fact that Jack Bass played a sort of narrator role, it seemed to be mainly him who moved the episode along. Jack and Georgina ending up together is just pure genius of the shows' writers. They go together perfectly! Both of them have a passion for scheming and both of them are bad but in a good kind of way. A match made in heaven I say.

Chuck and Blair's marriage. I won't deny it, I may have shed a teeny-weeny tear and when I saw Henry Bass? Maybe another one. I loved how Cyrus was proper going for a full on wedding service and that, when they spotted the police, Blair & Chuck were like"quick, skip to the I do part". Cyrus managed to finish the service just in time, thank God!

My only question is, what happened to Sage? She was there at the start of the episode but, by the end, it was as if she'd been abducted by aliens or something! Also I would've liked to of seen more of Jenny and Eric. If it was up to me Jenny, Eric and the main cast would've all gone on a hunt for GG. But obviously the writers didn't think that that was a good idea.

Overall I loved New York I Love You XOXO, just like I loved every single episode of Gossip Girl,  and I'm determined to go visit NYC at some point in my life Now that the show has ended I'm going to watch all of the episodes from the very beginning  if I spot any hints to the fact that Dan is Gossip Girl then I'll be sure to point them out to you! The episode, like the entire series, was really quite beautiful, the clothes, the people, the setting. Everything. So, this is the end of my review, I hope that you enjoyed reading it and I hope that, even though Gossip Girl has ended, you'll continue to read my blog.

As Gossip Girl herself (or should it be himself?) would say;
You know you love me, XOXO.

Gossip Girl 5x13 Chuck Tells Blair Not to Marry Louie

Gossip Girl's Final Chapter

dan humphrey
By Dan Humphrey, originally published in The Spectator
“The Upper East Side was like something from Fitzgerald or Thackeray. Teenagers acting like adults. Adults acting like teenagers, guarding secrets, writing gossip all with the trappings of truly opulent wealth. And membership in this community was so elite, you couldn’t even buy your way in. It was a birth right. A birth right I didn’t have, and my greatest achievements would never earn me.
All I had to compare to this world was what I read in books, but that gave me the idea. I wasn’t born into this world – maybe I could write myself into it. I overheard enough conversations to be able to mimic the language of theConstance girls, but every writer needs his muse and it wasn’t until that photo of Serena in that white dress that I knew I had something strong enough to actually create a legend and launch a website.
Within weeks, I was getting dozens of emails with stories about Upper East Siders, so I posted them anonymously, and then I got more. Before long, it was a monster– everyone was sending tips. And when Serena came back from boarding school, I wrote my first post about me: Lonely Boy, the outsider, the underdog. I might have been a joke, but at least people were talking about me.”

TONIGHT ON GOSSIP GIRL; ONE FINAL SCHEME.

That's right Upper East Siders, tonight is the last episode of Gossip Girl and while season 6 has been a bit of a mess, hopefully this final outing won't be a disappointment. There are returning faces, cameos, one final scheme and we will find out who Gossip Girl really is. Spoilers ahead.
Last week ended with a scene that was stylized to the point of ridiculous as Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) plummeted to his death, after his own plot to kill Chuck (Ed Westwick) failed. Gossip Girl has been known for doing dream sequences inspired by Audrey Hepburn movies (like the one at the start of the episode), but this felt like one step too far. What it means of course is that the police will be looking at Chuck as prime suspect number one, especially as Chuck had rather publicly just minutes before accused Bart of trying to kill him. They're going to need one major plan to get Chuck off the hook and it's lucky that he has Blair (Leighton Meester) at his side. Will this pair get a happy ending?
Reinforcements are needed and there will be several familiar faces returning to Manhattan including Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington), Eric (Connor Paolo) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen). It looks like a wedding is part of this, but will Chuck and Blair tie the knot before the police arrive? As you can see in the sneak peeks below everyone will be playing their part, including Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) who has never turned down an opportunity to be part of a major scheme. Georgina is somewhat preoccupied with the contents of Dan's (Penn Badgley) final chapter, the contents of which are still a mystery but could be part of the 'Who is Gossip Girl?' reveal. In a clip below Dan tells Georgina that he isn't giving it to Vanity Fair, could he instead be helping out Nate (Chace Crawford) who has also been working on this story? After Nate (deservedly) punched Dan at Thanksgiving this would be a big move to get back on side with everyone.
Dan has more than just this chapter on his mind, as he is still trying to convince Serena (Blake Lively) that he is a good guy and slipped the good chapter into Serena's luggage at the end of last week. Serena has been in love so many times that it won't be surprising if she ends up with Dan, but I'd probably be more satisfied if she goes with the 'I choose me' scenario.
This season has been a mess in places; we've spent too much time with new characters such as Sage (Sofia Black D'Elia), the Bart investigation meandered all over the place in a snooze-inducing manner until last week and despite what the producers said at the start of the season, the Blair/Serena friendship has not been all that central to the plot. I'm not saying that I expected grand things from these final ten episodes - as the show has declined in quality over the seasons, but I thought they would be ridiculous in a fun way. Sadly this hasn't been the case and characters such as Blair have become less sympathetic thanks to their churlish ways. It worked when they were in high school, but now that they are adults this bratty behavior is not appealing.
So who is Gossip Girl? Do you care or are you more interested to see who Kristen Bell is playing tonight? What would you like to see happen in the finale?
Watch 3 sneak peeks below and for a look at the promo video and photos head here and here. At 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, a retrospective will air, including interviews with the cast and producers.  The final episode begins at 9:00 p.m.
